One of the things that we have to do down here above and beyond all the work that we do around the dorms is we have disciplines that are to help us grow as people and as Christians so if you are interested I will put out weekly disciplines up partially so you know what I am doing down here but if you are interested it is a good chance to grow and live a little of that we are experiencing down here, so any ways this week we are challenged because of the book that we are reading to spend one hour a day in meditation (quiet time, prayer, silence, quiet god time) and then spend one hour in the word studding reading learning, we also are going to start to memories psalms 42 this week only veers 1-3 as the deer pants for water, so my soul pants for you, o god, my soul thirsts for you god, the living god, when can I go and meet with you, my tears are my food day and night, while men all day long say “where is your god”. I am pretty sure that is right that was from memorization so hopefully it is right (you can check me on it) so any ways if you want to memorize the verse with me as well I will continue to put up our memorization verse

well the last couple days have been so much fun right now we don’t have any groups in for a couple of weeks so we are doing a lot of dorm remodeling, even for the group that came down in October this place looks so different, John and Mary’s building in about 99% complete there is just a couple of cabinets that need put in and we are going to put in I staircase to the deck that is on the roof, yes that is right I said deck on the roof the view is very cool but because there has been no group in we have been doing a lot of stuff after work is done, one night we drove to the top of the mountain that the dorm is on and the view is so incredible at night you can see so far, it is very beautiful and we have had two 2:00 in the morning taco runs to the taco stand that is open until 4:00 in the morning in case you have a craving and then last night was awesome we went to the VIP theater it was the nicest theater that I have ever been too, it had nice leather couch like seating that reclined it was very nice, so it has been supper fun because we have just been hanging out all day and most of the night and we are pretty much having fun all day long |

Well Thursday night all the girls in the dorm went out with Marry for coffee leaving us guys at home so Jon and I headed off too Rosario to Jose’s Thursday night service. It was good to see him, he is doing good and then we where invited back on Sunday, Paul, his wife and children came down Saturday night so we all got to meet them and go to church on Sunday at Jose’s church witch was nice because the church that we go to that is really close to the dorm there is not many people there that speech’s English so it is really hard to fallow so that was nice to be able to understand what was going on

Well today we had our first whole team build with all of the staff members it was so much fin working with all of the people and knowing them all so well the house turned out great and we all had a lot of fun, And the other day on Saturday I went out on my first build as a staff member with Greg and The ROCK, they are the Church from San Diego, that comes down a lot for day builds it was a lot of fun to go out and build with them it was a really fun build and I got to drive in Mexico some more, I am actually more caution driving in Mexico just because I don’t really understand the laws here and every one that I have talked to that has gotten in to a wreck whether or not it was their fault they have been blamed for it, and one interesting law of Mexico if you injure some one in a wreck you stay in jail until their medical bill is paid so I really don’t want to get in a wreck down here, o and by the way incase you are wondering yes it is very sunning and probably about 75 out witch is very nice, I have yet had any regrets coming down here I love every minute of it down here except when I am sleeping because there is so many fun things to do down here, every place we have gone to eat had been increasable last night we went to have tortas there are basically a mix between a sandwich and a hamburger they were increasable other than eating we are working on some project that is fun, also the other day I went to the teungis the open air market where every body sells stuff it was a lot of fun to go because I went to buy cloths down there, it was a lot of fun looking for cloth and buying them so now I have more than three shirts so that is nice also we just started reading celebration of disciplines by Richard J. foster so far it is a really good book it starts out with the discipline of meditation that is as far as I have read so far, there have been some really good points that it isn’t really hard to meditate on god, one thing that I read that I have to give credit to my mom is it said just to look at nature gods creation to take a flower up close and really appreciate gods work, which my mom did with us all the time when we were little and it is really amazing to see how incredibly detailed a little flower is any way so tomorrow I will start the long task of working on cars so, that should be a lot of fun, other than that just pray for me that I am able to focus on god and learn more about him, and to prepare for the day ahead of me!!

The first whole day it started early at five in the morning we had to head for the border to get across in time for my moms flight at eleven we got across just fine and got her to the air port our next task for the day we to head to ocean side to pick up a refrigerator that was being donated luckily we arrived early and we helped him move his new refrigerator in and then packed up the old one for John Mary’s place they were a very nice couple we ended up talking to them for quite a while and having lunch there we then headed south of the border and I was driving this was my first real time driving in Mexico and I didn’t hit any one actually it went pretty well and I am kind of starting to learn were things are we got back and set up the refrigerator and talked some more, we went out for tacos again tonight they were very good, and I was able to unpack a little more today so I now have a little more of my room organized so that is nice and I learned were the laundry mat was and gout all of my cloths cleaned so it is nice to have clean cloths but that was pretty much the first day it has been really busy and crazy there are some old staff members that have been dropping by like Mika so it has been fun being able to talk with them, and today was pretty much a first time memorable experience because today for the first time in who knows how long it snowed yes that is right for all that thought I was coming down to sun your wrong I brought the snow with me and it actually snowed today which shocked pretty much every one so it was definitely a first for slot of people but I am hoping that it worms up soon, but unfortunately like every thing else in Mexico every thing is flexible so I am learning the phone and internet are not as reliable as in the states so if I don’t return email or don’t post any thing for a while I may be really busy or more likely our internet is down so don’t worry I will keep writing and then they will filled in on what I have been doing

Hey guys well I have made it down here thank you all so much for your prayers that got me down here my mom and I had an awesome trip down to Mexico we stopped at the jelly belly factory that was very cool we got to sample jelly bellys and see how they are made that was very cool we also went to the Winchester mystery mansion it is the mansion that Sara Winchester built after her husband and daughter died she had people working on her house 24/7 for 37 years until she died, the house was very crazy there were stair cases to no where there were door that lead to drop offs that dropped two stories, there were doors that went no where she put in more windows than the empire state building it was a crazy building, then when we got to ocean side California we went to the king of the missions the saint luie that is spelled wrong but it was something like that but any ways it was the biggest of the missions at the time and it housed and helped many Spanish men during the Spanish war or something like that I guess I wasn’t paying that much attention but parts of the building were close to 250 years old it was very beautiful, then on Friday in San Diego we spent pretty much the whole day on the U.S.S MIDWAY 41 it was absolutely amazing we spent about four hours there and could have probably spent a little more it was very cool, they pretty much let you go every where on the ship it was very interesting to see the computer room that the only purpose of the computer was to figure out were the location of the boat was and they then backed up the computer with a star map and a sextant it was crazy to see how technology has changed from that huge room then to a G.P.S. that is accurate to about 5 feet and you can hold it in your hand but if you are ever in San Diego highly recommend it and finally we were off to Mexico |
